Results vs Insights on the Numbers Tab: A Guided Tour of Both Views

The Numbers tab holds two separate views of the same game. The Results view shows what the game has drawn. The Insights view shows what those past draws have to say about the numbers you currently have selected. This post is a guided tour of both.
Getting there
Open the Games tab, select a game card — Lotto, EuroMillions, Set For Life or Thunderball — and you land on the Numbers tab for that game, titled “Your Numbers”. You can also reach it directly from the bottom tab bar.
At the top sits a set of numbers, randomly selected to begin with. These are your selected numbers, and they matter for the second view: everything Insights shows is worked out from them. Random Pick replaces them with a new random set; tapping one opens the Number Picker, where you can choose a specific number and save favourites; long-pressing one locks it against the next Random Pick. The two views sit below.
The Results view: what the game has drawn
Results is the default: the game’s draw history, listed in date order with the most recent first and dividers marking each year. The latest draw is highlighted at the top with a Prize Breakdown button beside it, showing the confirmed amount paid at each prize tier — a prize tier being one of the levels a prize can be won at, from matching two numbers up to matching the lot.
Scrolling back through years is fine for browsing, but when you want one particular night the Select Draws button opens a calendar and filters the list to a single draw or a range — the quickest route to every draw a multi-draw ticket covered.
Nothing here depends on your own numbers; it is the public record of the game.
The Insights view: what the history says about your numbers
Switch to Insights and the screen changes character. In place of the draw history you get LottoBase’s readings — Insights is the app’s word for all of this — of your selected numbers measured against that history. Change one number and the whole view recalculates.

On the Numbers tab, Results lists past draws; Insights reads your selected numbers.
First, set how far back to look with the Insights Period Selector, whose tabs are 3M, 12M and All Draws — the last three months of draws, the last twelve, or the full history. The window matters. Three months of Lotto is only a couple of dozen draws, so counts are small and jumpy; All Draws covers thousands, so counts there are larger simply because there is more history in them. A number appearing “more often” over All Draws than over 3M is usually telling you about the size of the window, not about the number.
Then the readings themselves:
- Win Frequency Pattern — a visual of when your selected numbers have previously won, and at which prize tier. It is the fastest way to see the shape of a line’s past: scattered marks, a cluster, or a long empty stretch.
- Previous Wins cards — one card per prize tier your selected numbers have hit, with how many times they hit it over the period and an estimated prize amount. Most of what appears here is lower-tier matches rather than anything dramatic.
- Sum versus average winning sum — add your selected numbers together and you get a total. This compares it with the average of past winning lines’ totals: all those totals added up and divided by how many there were. Middling totals are far commoner than extreme ones, so a line well away from the average is unusual by arithmetic rather than misfortune.
- The odd/even split — how many of your numbers are odd and how many even: four and two, three and three, and so on.
- The high/low split — the same idea, counting how many fall in the lower half of the ball pool and how many in the upper.
All of this describes draws that have already taken place; none of it changes the odds, which are identical for every number and every combination. What it gives you is a stated reason for one line rather than another.
A note on “All Draws”
All Draws does not always mean “since the game began”. When the National Lottery changes a game’s rules — adding balls to the pool, for instance — earlier draws are not really comparable with later ones, so by default LottoBase runs All Draws from a game’s most recent rule change: 10 October 2015 for Lotto (the main ball pool went from 49 to 59), 27 September 2016 for EuroMillions (Lucky Stars from 11 to 12) and 30 January 2019 for Thunderball (a Tuesday draw was added). Set For Life has had none, so it runs from launch. To see every draw since a game started instead, Settings > Insights Settings switches a game between Rule Change and Game Launch.
Using the two together
In practice the views form a loop: Random Pick or the Number Picker to set a line, Insights to see what the history makes of it, Add to Ticket to save it. Results is then where you read the draw — although if the ticket is set to Tracking, the app has already checked it and told you if it won.
The lottery is a game of chance, so it is worth deciding what you are comfortable spending before you start building lines rather than after.
